Tips for Selecting a Face Painting Package

We want to give you the best value for your entertainment dollars, so our pricing options are built to reflect that.

Which option is best for you? That depends on your specific event and needs. Here are some basic tips:

1) Birthday Parties: Our pricing for private parties with 20 or fewer guests being painted is based on the number of guests, rather than the amount of time. If you have a firm (or relatively firm) guest count, it's best to go with this option.

How do we enforce guest count? When the artist arrives at your party, they'll give the host 10, 15, or 20 wristbands to pass out to the guests being painted. The artist will collect each wristband as that child or adult is painted.

Some caveats: With this pricing option, it's the host's responsibility to make sure there is a child in the artist's chair at all times. Our job is to come to the party, paint each guest who would like face painting, and then leave. If you'd like the flexibility of pausing the face painting while all the guests participate in another activity, or having the artist there for a specified time period, selecting hourly pricing is a better option.

One design per person: With this pricing option, each guest gets one face paint (or arm paint), but can't come back for "seconds."

What if my guest count changes? Because we fill our artists' schedules most days, you'll need to book for the maximum number of guests you expect. We're usually unable to extend our time because of extra guests. Additionally, there is no discount if there are fewer guests than what you booked. The artist is free to leave when everyone who wants to be painted has had the opportunity to do so.

2) Hourly: Our pricing for larger events, open-to-the-public type of events, or anywhere that guest count might be hard to predict, we recommend paying our hourly rate. Each artist can paint 15-20 guests in an hour (fewer with larger/more elaborate designs or more with smaller/faster designs), and can update the size/complexity of designs on the fly depending on how many people are waiting for face painting, so you're sure to get the best value.

Hourly pricing is also a good option for private parties where you want to guarantee the artist is in attendance for a certain time period. For example, if some guests might be arriving late, or leaving early, you can book the artist for a specific time period, rather than a certain number of guests.

As long as we don't have another event scheduled right after yours, we can extend hourly events as needed for additional guests.

With this option, you're paying for the artist's time, not the number of guests. So if there's still time and guests would like another turn, we're happy to paint something else on their arm (if they already have a face paint) or expand their face paint design, if possible.

3) Additional Services: We can combine face painting with waterproof glitter tattoos, balloon twisting, or henna tattoos. Depending on the number of guests you expect, one artist can perform more than one service, or you can have additional artists for additional services. We do offer a discount for combining services. If you'd like to offer more than one service to your guests, the best way to do so is to request a quote for your specific guest count/hours.
